This book starts with a great chapter explaing how AJAX started and what it really is and how it works. Explaining how AJAX really works can be dificult for the beginner and the authors do it wonderfully. The next chapter goes into the basics of AJAX and how to create a very simple example(s) to give the user a solid foundation of how this new technology works (old technology but new way of using it actally).

This is a nice pragmatic guide to coming up to speed with what's happening in interactive Web application development. You won't go wrong with this book.

I found this book to be extremely informative. It is written in a clear, engaging style that makes it a pleasure to read. The examples are well constructed, relevant to real world applications, and thoroughly explained. The essential bits of code are highlighted for quick reading. The most irritating thing about web development is cross-browser support, and authors do a great job to making this less intimidating and point readers to libraries to abstract away the differences. Also covered are related JavaScript XML, XPath, XSLT support, web services, RSS/Atom.

This book got me started with Struts very quickly. I was able to quickly learn the basics and start writing my first struts app. I haven't finished the book yet, but it is already worth the money I paid.

Introducing ASP.NET AJAX" provides a nice introduction to ASP.NET AJAX 1.0. The book is written against the final ASP.NET AJAX 1.0 release, and so is current with the final APIs that was shipped.

If you've already had a good introduction to the ASP.NET Ajax Extensions, then this short book is all you'll ever need. The thing I appreciate about Dino's writing is his exploration underneath the hood. This can be said about all of his books. Knowing how things work under the hood seperate the rock stars of the industry from the rest!

This is written in the same easy-to-follow style of the author's previous publications and well worth the purchase price. It takes the reader through creating a single Ajax example with PHP and MYSQL, and clearly explains the concepts as you go. As usual, there is an accompanying web page with downloadable files and other information.

His examples are easy to understand, and pertinent to the job at hand. I own several books by Larry, and have found them all to be very helpful, not matter what the task may be. Keep up the good work Larry, and I look forward to your next release.
