Advanced After Effects Motion Graphics is for the editor with some AE miles under their belt. It is not really a beginner book, but does start you off slowly with great step by step instruction. ...
Start off with After Effects Apprentice, then get this book. You'll know After Effects well. ...
I really enjoy the way the book presents the material. It's easy to read and follow the step by step tutorials. The included disc contains each tutorial that the book covers so that you can follow along and test each and every step. It makes learning After Effects easy and fun to work with. It's great for beginners as well as experienced users of the software. This book will stay on my bookshelf as a quick reference.

Though this book series was written for After effects 6.5, I used it as a supplement to CS3. I am very glad that I did, the authors answered the question - Why do you use an effect or tool? The other "teach" books demonstrated what After Effects can do, but not how other than enter the number required in the exercise. ...
There are a billion ways you can go when you start up After Effects. It's wonderful to know that once I generate the ideas of what I want to do but don't know how to pull them off, all I have to do is find the tutorial for it and "Genius!" I've learned them and am able to modify them in any direction I want to go.

This book is absolutely wonderful. The tutorials are beautifully crafted and the case studies are extremely enlightening. There is a lot of good stuff in this book! The tutorials are somewhat complex (which is a good thing) but very easy to follow. Beginners might want to start with their previous book - Creating Motion Graphics with After Effects - because the new one assumes you at least know your way around the program. It would be impossible for even an intemediate/advanced user to go through this book without learning a LOT of new stuff. ...
This is an excellent book, and a great compliment to Creating Motion Graphics with AE. This is a jam-pack book of tutorials. The content is excellent, and it covers everything from basic to advance. I only wish there is more them :)

A quick tutorial for anyone wanting to create basic fire in After Effects without buying plug-ins.#15 - Most Viewed (Today) - Howto & DIY - United Kingdom#6 - Top Rated (Today) - Howto & DIY - United Kingdom#34 - Top Rated (This Week) - Howto & DIY - United Kingdom#2 - Most Discussed (Today) - Howto & DIY - United Kingdom#56 - Most Discussed (Today) - Howto & DIY#19 - Most Discussed (This Week) - Howto & DIY - United Kingdom#18 - Top Favorites (Today) - Howto & DIY - United Kingdom#62 - Top Favorites (This Week) - Howto & DIY - United Kingdom

not bad for fractal noise, and i love the arthur brown. i wonder if you animated the offset turbulance center from the bottom to the top of the comp if that might make it look like the fire's rising.
